Your bespoke wedding

speaks volumes as to who you are

Life events are certainly worth celebrating, but it’s also about capturing YOU!

My forte is this:  Capturing the essence of people – who you are, your personality, passion, uniqueness…and when it comes to weddings, it’s about weaving your common (or not so common threads!) of who you are as individuals and as a couple into a meaningful and highly memorable ceremony.  Not a ceremony “out of a book” where everybody is disengaged,  but one that is totally “bespoke” – vibrant, creative and “totally you.”

I’m proud to be an inclusive celebrant whatever your fabulous point of difference is!  Rreligion, culture, language, sexual preference, vaccination status, music choice, dance style…!

Multi-talented professional at your “service”

I’m Janelle Fletcher with a tonne of ceremony planning, presenting and writing skills.  A vibrant MC, published author, speaker, and experience in TV and radio ad presenting, I am a special “package” who will light up your wedding day world.  Pizazz, professionalism and personality are “top of the pops” of what I bring to you, your guests and your occasion.  Rest assured, you will feel inspired and fondly remembering your “big day.”

Word-Queen and Language Lady with multi-national couples

Teacher of English as a second language helps me write a ceremony and engage with non-English speaking couples with decorum and ease.  Choice of words, speed, tone, gestures…..Fun, fun, fun.  I also speak fluent German and have a growing confidence with French. Even my Spanish speaking or other language-speaking couples love the way that I’m relatable, understandable and super-friendly making them have fun, for sure.  Gesturing that awaited for “Kiss Moment” can be so much fun.   Multi-national couples I’ve had the joy of marrying have come from Australia, NZ, Germany, Chile, China, America, Lithuania, Argentina, Malaysia and Hong Kong, Thailand…Yeah to globe-trotters!   And anything goes from non-religious, Orthodox, Muslim, Hindu or Christian religion should that be an important aspect of your ceremony, or not!

From A-Z and personalised ceremony

As an organised celebrant who will take you through the A-Z’s of wedding and ceremony prep (in a systemised and personal way) , this will take the strain off you so you can focus on other wedding decisions.  Imagine also having a ceremony which you feel was “made to measure” and oozed your personality, style, needs, wants and even quirky requests.  Your friends and family will also feel it was the best, most fitting wedding ever!

No bores and snores, but lots of engagement

Some celebrants can write, but that doesn’t make them an interesting, vibrant person to plan and lead a great wedding ceremony nor someone who can manage the people-dynamics and “unexpected moments” on the day.  Some celebrants use words “straight out of the book” and don’t know how to personalise language, style, tone and sentiments that make the ceremony feel totally you. Fortunately for you, I am a vibrant and capable leader of events and occasions and have the gift of words that inspire, touch hearts, evoke laughter. (and maybe even bring on a tear or two!)  That means under my watch, no-one will be “sleeping in the pews!”

The right fit

Here’s something reassuring.  We need to match!  We need to relate!  Afterall, you want the very best fit leading up to your wedding and on the day itself.  I offer a complimentary initial conversation over skype or zoom for us to meet, get to know each other and ask questions.  If we feel like “pieces of a common jigsaw”, then we keep going.  If not, I am happy to recommend a different celebrant.   I also have a network of trustworthy wedding professionals including photographers, caterers, venues, florists, hair and makeup and whatever other person or request you have.

Before and during-care (I’ll let you deal with the morning-after!)

Before and on the day of your wedding, expect to be cared for!  I take you through step=by-step and we share a google doc so everything is in one place and leads you through the process of getting your marriage licence and preparing the ceremony.  This “common doc” also saves you a load of time and has everything “on tap” in one place!  I get to know you well via zoom over a period of a few months, and I keep you updated with what the next simple step is. You get to relax knowing that you’ll have things done the right way, on time and you’ll walk down the aisle feeling confident the ceremony is going to “rock”.

And here’s my pre-wedding gift .  A goodie bag to get your wedding preparations started and make things a lot easier for you in the lead-up, and on your wedding day.  These are “must haves!”  Contact me today to grab your gift and unwrap the goodies!

On the big day, I will arrive early, ensure things are running smoothly and deliver a vibrant, meaningful and enjoyable ceremony. Your friends and family will also feel included and important, and it will be a day you will remember, for sure!  Afterall, you just got married!

After-care – no berocca, but the legal stuff sorted!

No, I won’t be by your side to offer you a berocca for your day-after hang-over or bandaids for your dancing shoes blisters.   But yes, I get the “legal” stuff signed, sealed and delivered and promise to file that well and truly before the 10-day deadline.  You will not only keep a copy of your signed marriage certificate from the day (I’ll give it to one of your besties in your wedding party to keep it in safe hands!), but I’m happy to offer you a self-designed keepsake certificate and a copy of the ceremony wording if you would love those as “legacy items.”  Hey, I would also value a few pics of the day too, not to mention any awesome feedback you might have up your sleeves!

How to start ringing those wedding bells

So how do we get the wedding bells ringing? Contact me to set up our first complimentary “meet-up” over zoom/skype. (it pays to have you both on that call!) And if you love, love, love (not to mention trust me) as your celebrant, then you simply pay a $125 non-refundable first payment towards my fee.  A second and final payment is made a week prior to your wedding.  That way you head off on your honeymoon, with few or no logistics in your headspace!

And amidst all of those other decisions to make re venue, cars, flower, photos, cake, caterer, photographer, transport, etc …. I am well connected in the community and can help you find what you’re after!

And here’s a second great website full of local Wanaka wedding experts. Or if you’re getting married in Queenstown, the Lakes District or even somewhere else in New Zealand, be in touch!

Right after our video conversation we were 100 % sure that you certainly were the right person to help us with our marriage.
Everything was wonderful. All good words and good feedback also from our friends and families who were also part of it from the other side of the world.
The good and fast communication were essential considering the short notice period of 1 week. You were super helpful with everything and creative with the scene, involving the guests with the gift, and providing information of the date, the place and the chosen rings.

Thank you for sending through the wording! I am still so moved to read these words again! Even though the size of our ceremony was small but the sense of it was sweet and elegant. And on the big day we did enjoy the lovely atmosphere you created for the ceremony - the colour of your dress and the colour of the flowers you brought. They matched the colour of signing table cloth. We do appreciate every detail you created for us. We trust it would be our unique memories of our wedding days!

You knew us to a "t" with only just a quick meeting before our quickly organised civil union. We loved your lights, action, camera analogy and wording that showed our love for film and social media. Thanks for making it so relaxed with us and our two witnesses at home where we "felt at home."

When we speak a different language and we cried, you caught our emotions. We love Lord of the Rings and your stories, words and style were perfect in a majestic location.

Still waiting to hear from this young farming couple. But I am now a fan of country music and life on the farm! Lots of horse analogies and fun inspiration from equines! And here's what a guest said. You held space beautifully for Jesse and Larissa’s wedding. I loved that you captured who they were so well and it was one of the most genuine, authentic and happy weddings I’ve been to.

Thank God I'm a country boy! (and girl)Riding off into the sunset

What a beautiful day with just our parents, two best friends and the dog. It was amazing!

Janelle, you're a memorable soul. The small elopement ceremony you created for us was deeply meaningful, symbolic and full of love and joy. It was skilfully crafted and shined with a polished professionalism. You are warm and bright, and an expert at your trade. Couples are in the best of hands, with someone that cares as deeply about your ceremony and experience as you do. It really felt like Janelle was a part of our family, and having her marry us made an already special day richer.

We did a wine-tasting at Rippon on Monday and looked at each other and said, "How about getting married this weekend here!" Janelle helped in so many ways including blowing bubbles and having a rattle for our baby to celebrate! #justhe3ofus

We are back in Germany and we are still thinking quite often of this great day. I'm deeply convinced that beside of the wedding couple you were the most important person to make this day unforgettable. The way you led through the ceremony was very trustful, empathetic, humorous, clear and direct (if necessary) and always very friendly so that eyerybody taking part in this day felt extremly well. It was also very remarkable for me that you found very appropriate words to characterise und describe Stina and Toby although you had not too many occasions to talk to them in before. I would like once again to thank you very much for your extraordinary engagement as master of ceremony. I was really deeply impressed with you.

This elopement was celebrated on Boxing Day and I replaced another celebrant who prepared such a beautiful ceremony with a Hindu inspired vow ritual which the bride particularly related to. Twin Peaks - unforgettable, breathtaking view.

Thank you so so much for sending us our wedding day ceremony! You can not imagine what that means to us. I read it at least twenty times and always have to cry when I read how you describe our love for each other, because it is exactly what we feel. I think you got to know us very good in the past few month 🙂 Your touching words, the rituals, the songs you choosed for our wedding were just so beautiful and we highly feel granted that you made this day to be the best day of our life. Words can't describe how the feeling was, when you announced we are Mr. and Mrs. Spangler. (German couple)
